If you understood everything in my heart right now you would abandon all fear and live knowing that I would take care of you. The doubts and fears and past would be swept away and it would all be the same but you would know that it’s different now. It’s different now because I am certain of things, things like love and passion and something-like-eternity-but
If I told you this now you would laugh and smirk and tell me that’s what you thought all along, but that wasn’t how it turned out before. You wouldn’t believe me and I wouldn’t blame you but it would be alright because I wouldn’t let go of it. Then one day when you were old and I was already dead for some reason or another, you would realize that I was telling the truth that balmy day. You wouldn’t be sad, though, because your lack of faith was overshadowed by my compulsions and desires and strength. And your love.
We’ll go on pretending that I’m still who I was–or at least I might still be who I was, even if you or I don’t really believe that. Just know that you will be held and kept safe and I love you for everything that is in you.
