Passport came in the mail

For ten whole days I will exist solely for one person, relying on her and her alone to be my conduit of communication, the source of my heat, the weight that keeps me here on earth and directed. For ten days, we will be the source of envy: two lovers absorbed in one another, caught up in the sounds of each others voices over the foreign accents and street vendors. For those ten days, old women will weep at the sight of us and artists will be inspired by the sheer beauty of it all, the universe collapsing in on itself as we walk together and exude happiness. But more than happiness: euphoria, a quiet sense of peaceful completeness that will fill us up and overflow into the gutters of that ancient city. Lyon will never be the same. And neither will we.

The tickets have been bought. The passport arrived yesterday. I’m going to Natalie. France is just icing on the cake.
