Quirkiness supports the very establishment it seeks to critique (cf Baudrillard) by striking a pandering pose: ("gee twenty-somethings, look how cool we are!").

If anything, quirkiness is anti-ironic.

One thing I have noticed about your posts is that the particular emotional state that you may be in at the time heavily influences your writing character. Nevertheless, the above comment is correct - you are an entertaining and thought-provoking read. You should consider taking it to the next level.

As to the specific content of this post:

Superman where are you now?

Yes. Exactly. Thank you. Part of the anti-Quirk movement to me just feels like it's just a part of the "anti-everything/jaded" movement which is just as shallow and useless as they're saying Quirk is. Quirk at least feels more real to me than hating everything just because it exists.

Is it that you don't have a plot? That you are too lazy to brainstorm, or to start typing it out? Where's the fucking novel you owe the world? Why you holdin' out, boo?
I imagine you throwing a intense seven second hissy fit where you spit n'snarl that it's time for me to shut the fuck up about your writing skills, to stop straching at your kitchen door for more. So, maybe this will be the last time I take ahold of the pom poms in your honor...
And...
In reference to the second to the last blog. You wish you could be mediocre. You wish that you could sink into the drywall... I would argue, and I realize that my perspective is limited, that whether you are moving backwards, fowards, upwards or downwards, whether you are stagnant and starting to smell, whether you are changing baby diapers, arguing about overdrafted checks with a life partner, or choosing cereal, that you could never really fit into mediocrity. Sorry, kid. You are always going to shine a little brighter.
You sound like you need a psychic laxative though. My recommendation: get a job vulunteering to do something you find replusive, but know makes a difference. At least five hours a week.
I swear by this method.
I hope you are well. I should the postcard I bought you in Europe. I wonder if I have your correct address...

I do not enjoy quirk as much as I used to, mainly because I still hope for heroes of old to pop up in our thirty second advertising fueled infotainment world.

It might also be that the hero I search for is, for all intents and purposes, the anti-hero to the "hero" being fashioned for us by the quirkiness.

I also must say that the outcome still seems bleak whether one accepts quirk as the logical outcome of the postmodern condition or not. I for one think that we, as a generation, are in for a fate not yet contemplated, eventually the fad industry of shitty songs, movies, advertisements, and fake goods being pressed upon us for our disposable income will cause one of two things to occur:

The first will be for a total and complete meltdown of intellectual curiosity, the second, a massive wake up call that will, hopefully, lead to more fulfilling avenues for our generation.

I fear that, at the moment, the former is winning.
